About The Laniakea Inky Blue

Where is Planet Earth? “Far out in the uncharted backwaters of” The Laniakea Supercluster. Look up at the the heavens and see the Milky Way. In astronomy there are larger collections of galaxies called superclusters one of which our Milky Way Galaxy is a part. #LaniakeaInkyBlue

If we could state our “address” it would be Big Tree Harare, somewhere in Africa, in the Laniakea Supercluster. The Milky Way Galaxy where the Solar System is, is in the Local Group of galaxies which in turn is in the Laniakea Supercluster – our “cosmic backyard” so to speak. That’s how I came up with the idea of “slamming” names together, that is, the Laniakea Supercluster and the “Inky Blue” also known as the Night Sky. This is because when we go outside at night and look up at the heavens (or the Inky Blue) we are actually looking up at the Laniakea Supercluster – our little corner of the universe. Laniakea is Hawaiian for open skies or immense heaven.
